Mr. Alf Danzie, of Augusta, Georgia passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. Mr. Danzie was a humanitarian with a giving, compassionate heart. He was a 50 year member of the American Chemical Society, lifetime member of the NAACP and NRA; member of North American Fisherman Society; Master Mason and member of Ziff Lodge 119 in Dermott, Arkansas; the Democratic Committee, and Phi Beta Sigma. Mr. Danzie was a faithful, dedicated member of Thankful Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, choir member, Jr. Superintendent of Sunday School, Old Town Outreach Community Center, President of the Usher Board, Laymen Ministry and New Era Convention of Georgia. Mr. Danzie was a loving father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Danzie is survived by his daughter, Karen (Harry) Chipchase of Stafford, VA; son, Alfred (Ann) Danzie of Dermott, AR; brother, Bobby (Normal) Danzie, Sr.; six nephews, Dashujauhn, Bobby Jr. (Jessica), Burantz and Marvon Danzie, Michael and Gregory Johnson; niece, Pamela Johnson; two grandsons, Shawn and Harrison Chipchase; two great-granddaughters; and numerous extended family members.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 – 7 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Road Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Thankful Baptist Church, 302 Walker Street, Augusta. Interment will be held at a later date in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Alf’s loving memory.
