He was the son of the late Regina and Joseph Zachary Berard, Sr.
Stanley is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Celinda Marti Berard, and his siblings; Vindex Berard, Eunice Berard Groh, Joseph Zachary “Tye” Berard Jr., Martha Berard Wiltz, Lloyd Berard, and Thelma Berard Fournet.
He is survived by his sons, Anthony and David Berard, his daughter-in-law Jill Midthune, his step-grandson Benjamin Murphy, and a wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
Stanley was a life-long educator in St. Charles Parish Louisiana, including Industrial Arts Education, Counseling, Child Welfare, and various administrative positions, eventually serving as Superintendent of the school system.
He was a devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Charles Parish, A long-time member of The Knights of Columbus, The Rotary Club, Retired Teachers Association, Owl Woodworking Club, and various other organizations. Stanley served proudly in the Army Air Corps during WWII and counted a pilgrimage trip to Medjugorje as one of the most important moments of his life.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation celebrating Stanley’s life on Friday, February 26, 2021 for 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass for 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling located at 155 Holy Family Ln. COVID precautions will be in place. Mass will be available via live stream through The Holy Family YouTube Channel.
