Roy Joseph Williams Jr.

Roy Joseph Williams, Jr. passed away July 31, 2022 at the age of 62. He was born on July 22, 1960 in Marrero to Roy Williams, Sr. and the late Fay Williams. Loving husband of 42 years to Sandra "Sandy" Williams. Loving father of Roylyn Williams Saluto (Rusty), Royale Williams and father in law of Anthony Aguilera. Proud grandfather of Rainee Rose Saluto, Rhea Fay Aguilera, Rylee Rose Saluto and the late Reed Anthony Saluto. Brother of Todd Joseph Williams (Alysia), Ted James Williams, Sr. (Lisa) and the late Troy James Williams (Verna). Brother-in-law of Harold Riehm, Jr. (Darlene) and Darlene Duet (the late Robert). Roy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Roy was a tugboat captain for many years. He enjoyed fishing, trawling, playing music, gardening but most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roy was proud of his awards he received as a pirogue racing champion and boxing in his younger years. Roy was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, August 5, 2022 beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM and interment will follow at St. Pius X Cemetery in Crown Point.
