Ronald "Ronnie" Frederick Lanassa, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 21st, 2021 at the age of 71. He was a native of Westwego, Louisiana who was born to the late Frederick and Evelyn Lanassa. He was the loving husband to his wife Constance "Connie" Hertz Lanassa for a loving 51 years. Dedicated father of Ronald "Ron" Lanassa, Jr. and Wyndy L. Chopin (Joab). Ronnie was called Paw Paw by his granddaughters Amber Chopin-Smith(Nick), Alyssa Lanassa, Kayla Lanassa, and the late Jade Lanassa and his great gransons A'lijah, Alonzo, and Neeko Smith. He is also survived by his sister Kathy Lanassa Bernard (Lynn) and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting and salt water fishing. He also found a new passion on the golf course. In the past few years, his golfing talent shined with three hole in ones. Koasati Pine, a golf course in Kinder, Louisiana holds a plaque with his name for his achievements. Ronnie took pride in cooking, especially when his family requested his very own gumbo recipe. Besides his hobbies, Ronnie cherished spending time with beloved family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
