Mary "Marie" Gilbert Hicks

Mary "Marie" Gilbert Hicks went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 at the age of 82. Marie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Horace and Frances Gilbert. She was married to Arvil Hicks, Jr. for 52 years before his passing in 2010. Devoted mother of Harley Hicks, Sr. (Rhonda), Kim H. Domangue (Kerry Taravella), and the late Arvil Hicks III and Michael Hicks. Proud Grandmaw of Arvil Hicks IV (Sarah), Amanda Connelly (Matthew), Paula Hicks, Shelly Domangue (Daniel), Harley Hicks Jr., Shawn Domangue (Jourdan), Nicole Hicks, Rachel Hicks (Christian), and 13 Great Grandchildren. Sister of Robert Gilbert and the late Gail Gibson. Marie is also survived by her son in law Barry Domangue, as well many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Marie's family would like to express their gratitude to Passages Hospice and St. Anthony's Nursing Home for their care and compassion during Marie's time of need.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, November 11th, 2022 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. The funeral service will be officiated by Deacon Stephen Gordon. A visitation will be held from 11:30AM until the service time. Marie will be laid to rest at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, Louisiana.
