Marie Adele Dardar

Marie Adele “Dell” Ledet Dardar received her wings, peacefully, surrounded by many of her loved ones on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 8:21 AM at the age of 66, though she frequently claimed to be plenty-nine. She was the mother of Gene Leslie Watson and Tina Lynn Jinson (Michael), as well as her fur-baby and constant companion, Lacey. Grandmother of Jared Nicholas Watson, Summer Nicole Verdin (Jeffery), and Trey Oneal McLain. She was excited to find out recently that she was about to be a great grandmother. She was the wife of Walton Joseph Dardar. She was the daughter of the late William and Mabel Ledet, and sister of Clifford Ledet (the late Rita), Laurence Ledet (Elaine), Mabel Rogers (George), Geraldine Cardinal (the late Russell), Jenny Pennelton (John Blackmon), Elaine Daigle (Henry), Velma Favre (Butch), Jimmy Ledet (Teresa), Larry Ledet, and Lenny Ledet (Dan), as well as the late Rosalie Chelette (Ray), Rudolph Ledet (Mary), William Ledet Jr. (Betty), and David Ledet (Scharlene). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was a server at Ruth’s Chris Restaurants for 35 years, helping Ms. Ruth Fertel to open restaurants around the United States. She loved being around family, a good crawfish boil, her beloved Saints and an occasional casino day. While living with daughter and son-in-law, she even became a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. “Roll Tide!”

The family would like to express special thanks for those who have helped with her care and this process, especially Jeffery and Brandy, Kindred Hospice in Louisiana and Alabama, her nurse Amy Pertuit, her nurses aid Stacey, Leigh and Pastor Bob.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
