Julie and Family,
I have been missing Jimmy every day.  He was a good neighbor.  He watched out for us, kept his yard cut and neat. His flowers were the envy of the neighborhood. We had become good friends, and always talk to each other in the yard or at the gas station.  Every time I come out of the house I look at his yard and wish that he were still here.  How Sad. I hope memories of Jimmy sustain you and the family at this difficult time. Memories of Jimmy will be with me forever.  He was a good neighbor and will be sadly missed.

I was unable to attend the Memorial Mass, but do give Terry my deepest regards.  We go way back, riding the RTA buses together.

Jimmy, our dear friend, you will be greatly be missed by everyone.  There was something special about you in which you could make friends with people that weren't looking for a friend.  God Bless you and your family.  You will be greatly missed by Jina and I, J & K family, Krewe of Choctaw members, and all of your customers.

Julie and Little Jimmy

Julie you may not remember me; little Jimmy, I met you once with your dad at a football game at Belle Chasse High School.

Jimmy was a good man and I always enjoyed that classic smile on his face whenever we saw each other. He was tough, but good-hearted. I was good friends with Warren and Steve Burnett in the 70s and hung out at your house a lot with your whole family. Even when things got colorful at the house, the Landrys always treated me with respect and like I was one of the family. My sympathies and prayers are with you and your family. 

I miss my old friends and will never forget them.

I saw jimmy a couple months ago @ another good friends funeral after losing touch with many old friends,he was one of a kind, always made me laugh& a good man,rip my friend;

I was fortunate to be able to spend Fourth of July with Jimmy.  He came into J&K Bar and sat a seat away from me.  When he could not hear me speak he moved next to me and we spent the evening talking and laughing.  He told me he tried to park in Old Algiers to see the fireworks, but could not find a close parking spot.  We decided to just watch it from the parking lot with the lights turned off.  We talked about his son, work, and his family.  He joked with everyone.  Mike and I made plans to go with him to Gretna Fest in the fall so he would not have to worry about parking and walking far.  I asked for his number so I could call him. When he was ready to leave, I kissed him on the beard and said to stay safe…  I am truly lucky to have this memory of him and will always treasure the memory.  There are simply not enough words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. He was a good man and will be dearly missed. Love, Carmen Berggren & Michael Hano
