Irvin Martin Friloux Sr.

Irvin Martin Friloux Sr. was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the age of 89. He was the beloved husband of the late Justilia “Tillie” Plaisance Friloux for over 59 years. He was the son of the late Dennis Friloux and Leonie Roberts Friloux, as well as brother of Melba Lemoine (the late Stephen), Dorothy Plaisnace (Whitney), Betty Baudouin ( the late Lawrence), and Alvin Friloux (Dorris), as well as the late Dennis Friloux (Aggie), Winfield Friloux (Eunice), Clifford Friloux (Mryna), Donald Friloux (Anna Mae and Louise), and Amos Friloux (Patsy). Father of Dennis de la Gardelle (Linda), Gayle Autin (Nelson), Linda Cockrell (Owen), and Irvin M. Friloux Jr. (Sandra), as well as the late Gene Joseph Friloux and Ronald de la Gardelle Sr. (Barbara). Grandfather of Ronald de la Gardelle Jr, Donna Yeager, Randy and Keith de la Gardelle, Jerry Rivero, Lisa Robertson, Susan Goheen, Owen Cockrell Jr, Ellen Cockrell, Casey Truxillo, and Bambi Simoneaux. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to the Westwego Police Department, Fire, and EMS, as well as the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their assistance and support, as well as all of his care givers. He was an honest, fair, and hardworking carpenter for his entire adult life. He loved to cook. He not only worked hard, but was a very giving man, whether it be with friends, neighbors, clients, or his family. He married his wife when she already had 4 small children and raised them just like the two they would have. His favorite thing was family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
