Connie Rose Nelson passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 82. She was the mother of Todd Nelson (Nancy) and Mari Nelson Fernald (Alvin). Grandmother of Travis John Nelson (Jessica) of Maine and the late Jeffery Nelson. Great grandmother of Madelyn Nelson, Benjamin Nelson, and Nicholas Nelson. Daughter of the late Walter John Howard and Leda Lee Howard. She was the beloved wife of the late John Nelson Jr., who retired from the Navy after 27 years of service and served as a pastor for over 20 years. She served the church her entire life. She was a native of Gretna and a longtime navy wife, traveling all over with her husband. She returned to Gretna to care for her mother until her mother’s death, and then helped care for her friend’s mother. She served people all of her life.
