Christy was mildly inconvenienced when she passed away on November 29th, 2022 at the age of 42. Having lived a full life, Christy did more than most suckers did, such as earning an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of New Orleans while undergoing cancer treatment, then working on a second MFA in Studio Art until her cancer progressed. Between 2021-2022, her photography was shown in eighteen gallery shows including The Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Good Children Gallery.
One percent of all people who visit the Grand Canyon hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Christy hiked it 10 times, partially as tribute to her dad, Ricky Lorio, who died from the same cancer she had in 2001. The last thing he wanted to do was hike to the bottom. He never got the chance.
Christy is from Marrero, LA and lived in Uptown New Orleans for over 15 years.
Christy is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Fewer. When she said 'till death do us part she meant it. After 18 years of marriage, she's ready to enjoy dating in the afterlife. She is also survived by her mother, Pamela Lorio, her grandfather, Aubrey Guilliot, and her siblings, Christopher Lorio and Christin Lorio-Hencke.
A visitation for Christy will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Restlawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3540 Hwy 90, Avondale, LA 70094.
Christy is dedicating her funeral services to Hazel, her niece.
