Betty Jean Marie Gambino Glass

Betty Jean Marie Gambino Glass, age 86, of Waggaman, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Betty was born January 24, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Sam and Mathilda Gambino. Betty was the beloved wife of the late John Glass, Sr. Devoted mother of three children, Sam Lagreco (Teresa Hopkins), Tony Glass (Tammy Mayeaux-Nocito), Angel G. Beard (Lee Beard) and three step children, Jackie Glass, Bonnie G. Barrios (Walter Barrios) , and the late John Glass, Jr. Maw Maw of Katie Lagreco, Ashley Lucas (Louis), Stephanie Lemoine, Jonathan Lemoine, Matthew Lemoine, John Glass III, Penny Harper, Kelly Farris, and Tracy Barrios. Betty was also the Maw Maw of 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Betty is preceeed in death by her parents, Sam and Mathilde Gambino, her siblings, Mathilde Champagne, Margaret Galley, Doris Picarella, Mary Cambre, Evelyn Zeringue, Evangeline Boudoin, Leroy Gambino, Sam Gambino, and Anthony Gambino, Sr., and her step son John Glass, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 8:30AM and continue until the Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery in Waggaman, Louisiana.
