Margaret (Drews) Skrabanek

Margaret (Drews) Skrabanek, 83, of Marlin, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Waco. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home with the Reverend Andy Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1st from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Skrabanek was born on November 29, 1932 in Marlin, Texas to Albert O. and Emma Kampfenkel Drews. She married Gary Skrabanek on June 26, 1953 in Marlin and they celebrated over 63 wonderful years together. Mrs. Skrabanek loved cooking, farming, and checking cattle but her true love was her family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Marlin and Riesel. Mrs. Skrabanek was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Martin and Ben Drews and sister; Gertrude Vasser.

Survivors include her husband; Gary Skrabanek of Marlin, son; Ron Skrabanek and his wife, Anne of Marlin; daughters, June Haptonstall and her husband, Marcus of Azle and Jan Skrabanek of Marlin; grandchildren, Sarah, Ben and Rebecca Skrabanek, Laura Miller and her husband, Matthew, and Rachel Neal and her husband, Andrew; great grandchildren, Ethan and Elijah Miller; brother, Samuel Drews and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
