Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Gregory McLaughlin officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the funeral home.
Don was born on January 10, 1943, to Carlo and Lula (Musia) Salsiccia in Bryan, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Marlin, Texas. Don served in the Army National Guard from 1960-1966 as military police. Don married the love of his life, Margaret Hopcus on June 4, 1967, in Marlin, Texas. They celebrated 57 years of marriage together. He was also a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin. He worked in the law enforcement in Falls County. Don owned Don Wrecker service from 1980-2022, He was also involved in many family businesses, farming and ranching. Enjoyed working on old cars, spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Anthony Salsiccia,
Survivors included his loving wife, Margaret Salsiccia of Marlin, son, Don Carl Salsiccia, Jr., and wife, Deborah of Rosebud, daughter, Angela Palazzo and husband, Christopher of La Vernia,TX, son, Justin Salsiccia of Marlin; nine grandchildren: Skyler Salsiccia, Courtney Phelps and husband, Dustin, Zachary Salsiccia and wife, Cassandra, Kameron Salsiccia, Rosalia Palazzo, Giuseppe (Joey) Palazzo, Avery Salsiccia, Audrey Adams and husband, Jay and Bryce Ogle and six great-grandchildren; brother, Samuel Salsiccia, sister, Josephine Neumann and husband, Bill of Garfield, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews and heart felt affection to niece, Shelley Smith, best friend, Joe Contella and a host of cousins and friends.
The Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers, Joe Contella, Frankie Dingrando, Gene Wilkey, Mike Muzyka, Nelson Brumlett, and Ricky Hegefeld.
