Sarah Modena Norton

Ms. Norton was born on June 19, 1932 in McDowell County to the late Stephen Ezra Norton and Vernie Smith Norton. She was retired from her work in the textile manufacturing industry. She was a longtime member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. Ms. Norton was a Christian lady who loved her Lord and Saviour. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years.

Ms. Norton was the favorite aunt in her family. She adored her nieces and nephews. Left behind to cherish her memory are her sister Ronell McCall and husband, Wayne, of Marion, NC and her brother, James Norton and wife Carolyn, of Hendersonville, NC and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the McCall Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with the Reverend Doug Prevette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
