He was born September 14, 1965 in McDowell County to the late Hoyle Dean Elliott and Mona Lee Ricketts Elliott. Larry was loved by anyone who met him. He loved to sing and had a great sense of humor. He was the “King of one liners”. Larry will always be remembered as one of the toughest and hardest hitting 5’4” football players ever to come out of McDowell High School.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Scott Elliott.
Surviving are his wife, Amanda Wilson Elliott of the home; one son, Matthew Aaron Elliott and family, April Conner and Kylie Mahan; one daughter, Miya and Nevaeh of the home; two sisters, Donna Willis and husband, Doug Willis of Marion, NC and Deanna Moody and husband, Larry of Madison, VA; two brothers, Marty Elliott and wife, Danya of Marion, NC and Spencer Elliott and special friend, Cassandra Loftis of Marion, NC; eleven nieces and nephews; and eleven great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Sunny Vale Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
