Julius Jack Jackson Hayes

He was born April 12, 1931 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Howard Washington Hayes and Rosetta Mitchell Hayes. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Howard Hayes, Jr.

Mr. Hayes never met a stranger, to know him was to love him. He was an avid golfer. He worked as a machinist for NCI until he retired in 1984.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Betty Slagle Hayes of the home; his son, Bobby Hayes and wife, Kim of Swannanoa, NC; his granddaughter, Emily Hayes of Swannanoa, NC; one sister, Joann Ivey of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister-in-law, Judy Lebrun of Alberta, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Grove Stone Baptist Church in Black Mountain, NC with Rev. James Lamb and Rev. Randy Stone officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
