James Milton Mills

He was born September 13, 1934 in McDowell County, NC to the late Avery D. Mills and Pearl King Mills. Mr. Mills was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a good man and he loved the Lord! He also loved the Saint Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Buchanan Mills and his son, Mitch Mills.

Surviving Mr. Mills are two sons, Lance Christopher Mills and wife, Alonda of Erin, TN and James M. Mills, Jr. and wife, Shelly of Horse Shoe, NC; one daughter, Elizabeth J. Mills of Marion, NC; one brother, Terry Mills and wife, Barbara of Nebo, NC; one sister, Polly Haring and husband, David of Lebanon, MO; nine grandchildren, Morgan Mills, Mayson Mills, Mallie Mills, Macrae Mills, Jason Mills, Julie Smith, Jessica Ross, Andrea Smith and Nicole Miller; and three great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC with Rev. Chris Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
