Georgia Mayfield Finley

Mrs. Finley was born on December 24, 1919 in Burke County, to the late Dock Mayfield and Elizabeth Dobson Mayfield.

Mrs. Finley was a homemaker for most of her life.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband; John Taylor Finley of 41 years, four brothers; Jasper Mayfield, Elmer Mayfield, Johnny Mayfield, and Little Jud Mayfield, one sister; Mattie Henry, and one great grandchild; Lily Stancato.

Mrs. Finley is survived by two sons; James Finley and wife Brenda of Marion, Charlie Finley and wife Jerre of Concord, NC, one brother; Ralph Mayfield of Gainesville, Florida, two sisters; Betty Mimbs of Gainesville, Florida, and Ann Browning and husband Frank of Morganton, NC, four grandchildren; Kim Finley, Kelly Sifford and husband Brian, Dr. James Carol Finley Jr. and wife Jade, Felicia Stancato and husband Paul, and five great grandchildren; Tanner, Evan, James Jett III, Georgia, and Julian.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Nebo, NC, with Pastor Doug Worley and Reverend Dean Owensby. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Nebo, NC.
