Born Zona Gayle Paschal January 3, 1952 in Sanford, N.C., she grew up as the daughter of Bill and Altha Paschal, and sister to Ann and Billy.
Zona would move to Jacksonville, Fl. where she attended elementary through high school, and the first day her husband Bob saw her in high school Spanish class he knew that he was looking at his future wife. Zona and Bob started dating in 1968 and were married on August 24, 1974 in Jacksonville, Fl. and resided in Tampa, Fl. where Zona graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Art Education.
Zona was a stay at home Mom to the most amazing children, son Robert and daughter Amanda. When the family moved to Marietta in 1985 Zona continued the role of stay at home Mom which she cherished until 1988 where she taught art at Eastside Christian School where her kids attended. Zona would later go on to teach 3 year olds at Eastside Weekday Preschool for almost 30 years where she loved those kids as if they were her own.
Zona was a talented artist who painted just about everything. She especially enjoyed painting for her family and friends. Zona enjoyed family vacations, boating, the mountains, shopping, youth sports, family get togethers, and cheering on her beloved University of Georgia Bulldogs where both of her kids graduated and of course spoiling her precious Granddaughter Charlotte Ann (Charlie) and knowing foremost that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior and living by example. Zona was a witness in the way she lived her life and the reason her family came to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
