Nettie was preceded in death by her beloved son Scott Roberts, by her sisters, Jessie Burt, Evelyn Adkins, Pauline Gay, and Geneva Bourdeau, by her brother Horace Harrison, and by her parents Lila and John Harrison. Nettie is survived by her oldest son Larry, his wife Pam, and their children Lauren and Ryan and Ryan's wife Elizabeth; by her daughter Gail Roberts Newby, her husband Gene, and their daughters Jennifer and Kelly; and by her son Darrel. Nettie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nettie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. During Nettie’s long life, she was blessed with good health that enabled her to have an interesting career working with stock brokerage firms like Robinson-Humphrey and ultimately becoming a stockbroker. She loved golf and gardening and enjoyed playing bridge with friends and competing in poker tournaments at the Georgian Club. During her later years, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Smyrna, the Georgian Club, and the Red Hat Society.
A memorial celebration of her life will take place at H.M. Patterson & Sons in Marietta on Saturday, January 28, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital and to the Alzheimer's Association.
