Michael, known to his friends as “Mike,” was a very loving and caring man. He enjoyed being very involved in his son’s sports teams. Mike was known to coach little league baseball, basketball, and hockey. He was an incredible role model for his son, Ryan. Mike received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business from the University of Georgia. He was a very dedicated Bulldog fan!
On August 17, 1974, Mike married the love of his life, Teresa and they spent the next forty-eight years together before his passing. During their earlier years of marriage, they enjoyed many hours at the lake boating and skiing. Mike also had a keen ear and love of music. He played the guitar in his youth and sang in his church’s choir in adulthood.
He valued his time he spent with family and friends, and this was evident throughout his life. Above all, Mike was a proud grandfather and loved being with his grandchild. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hailey Paige Floyd, our sweet angel.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Teresa Floyd; son, Ryan Floyd; daughter-in-law, Jessica Floyd; brother, Newton Floyd and wife Linda; sister, Shawn Tice; granddaughter Harper Floyd and soon to be born into the family, Hadley Floyd.
