at First United Methodist Church in Marietta. Mark was born in Bluefield, WV December 5, 1934 to
Mary Estelle McHone Miller and Carl Arlington Miller. He graduated from Marshall University with a
BBA in Marketing in 1957. Mark married his high school sweetheart, Nancy, his beloved wife of 52 years.
His career began with IBM, ORTHO Pharmaceuticals then joined Provident Pharmaceuticals in 1962. There
he spent 36 years in the same company enduring mergers and acquisitions, transitions and expansions.
Mark held 11 different positions, each time moving up in the company. He retired with Solvay
Pharmaceuticals in 1998. Mark was proud to be selected to join the Honorary Commanders
Association sponsored by Department of Defense and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. Mark was
a devoted family man, dedicated to his numerous friends, was an avid golfer and a devout Christian.
Survivors are his two daughters, Robin M. Thompson (John) and Holly M. Ray (Michael), three
granddaughters, Morgan, Jessica, Miley and a grandson, Mickulas. In addition, his brother Richard
C. Miller (Lillian), in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Smith and many nieces and nephews. Preceding
in death are his loving wife, Nancy and his sister Imogene Browning. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that contributions be made to the Good Samaritan Fund FUMC 56 Whitlock Avenue,
Marietta, GA 30064.
