Lynn B. York, 64, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013. Lynn was born October 15, 1948 to the late Irvin & Alice Blalock of Marietta whom she lovingly cared for in her home once they were no longer able to care for themselves. She was a longtime member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church where she was active in many things to include the choir. Those who knew Lynn will always have fond memories of the way she decorated her home for every season. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her family and close friends. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Alice Blalock. Lynn is survived by her daughter Angela Gravley and husband, Richard; younger brother Alan Blalock and wife Tammy; niece Ashley Blalock; stepson David R. York III; stepdaughter Beth York; and five step grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, in the chapel at Johnson Ferry First Baptist Church, with a committal service to follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel is honored to be handling her arrangements.
