He is preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Jackson Collins and half-brothers Joe and Roy Glasson of Ironwood, Michigan.
Kenneth was born on March 4, 1921 in Ironwood, MI. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School and was an avid lover of sports and a key player on the school’s basketball team. After moving to Livonia, MI, Kenneth began working for General Motors where he worked 30 years in various positions and was also a union representative. After retirement he moved to Kansas to be closer to his kids and grandkids. After several years enjoying retirement from GM, he worked 13 years for a local Target store stocking shelves just to keep busy and active. The Target employees lovingly called him “the chief” and when he retired from employment, a party was held in his honor and he was presented with a beautiful plaque with kind words of well wishes and of course, a photo of a “chief”. He lived in Wichita, KS and Abilene, TX for many years before moving to Marietta, GA. He loved traveling to Las Vegas, casinos, BINGO, watching football, basketball, and hockey (Michigan of course!). He will be remembered for his good and happy nature, his big blue eyes, his infectious smile and his bravery surviving Cancer twice and battling Alzheimer’s. He fought the good fight with grace, elegance and class surrounded by those who love him most.
