Kate Belle was born on May 23, 2003, in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in the same neighborhood for most of her life and forged a strong connection to her community. Kate Belle was in the Colorguard and Winterguard, graduating from Pope High School last summer. She also participated in the Mt Bethel church choir for 14 years, traveling the last 6 years with the young adult choir, Voice of Truth, every summer. She was a freshman at Kennesaw State University studying to be an elementary school teacher and hoped to teach 2nd graders in an East Cobb elementary school. She loved working with youth programs, especially the students she nurtured through the after school program (ASP) at Tritt Elementary and church nursery over the years. Girl Scouts was a great love of hers, starting as a Daisy in Kindergarten and achieving her lifetime membership as an adult Girl Scout. She was planning on making the transition to troop leader to foster that love in other girls. She had just joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at Kennesaw and was loving her newfound sisterhood. College was everything she had hoped and more, and she was living her best life each day. Kate Belle was smart, funny, quick witted and kindhearted. There is no question as to how much she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Charles “Chuck” Jones and Michael “Mike” Gigandet.
Kate Belle is survived by her parents Chris and Michelle “Shell” Jones, her sister and best friend Maggie Jones, grandmothers Phyllis Gigandet and Julianne Jones, great grandmother Rose Reese, aunt and uncle Melissa and Chris Hill, her cousins Reese, Anna Lee and Mac Hill, as well as a huge network of family and friends that loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life for Kate Belle will be held at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, Marietta, GA on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
