Glenda Marie Ward Eaton, age 74, of Roswell, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born in Washington, NC on March 19, 1944 to James Leslie Ward (dec.) and Dorothy Lee Ward Daversa; the step daughter to Maria Ward (dec.) and James V. Daversa (dec.). She has been a loving wife to Thomas B. Eaton for 54 years. Glenda graduated in 1990 from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She was most recently “retired” from her small business of 30 years, Cellar Productions.
In addition to being a daughter and wife, Glenda was mother to Laurie (Carl) Kessler, Leigh Ann (Jason) LaMarca, and Lynda Fuller-Parker. Grandmother to Ashley Kessler, Savannah Fuller, Madison Fuller, Evan LaMarca, Julianne Kessler, Jackson Fuller, Brendan LaMarca, Grayson Fuller, Griffin Fuller, Aiden LaMarca, Nicholas Kessler, and Addison LaMarca.
Glenda leaves behind her brothers Jimmy (Donna) Ward and Mark Ward and sister Amber Leigh Roach’s (dec.) daughter Kimberly (Mark) Vodry. In addition to those named she leaves a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Glenda had many interests, likes, passions, etc. Among those were sewing, art, needle point, crochet, knitting, quilting, collecting material and other items, and teaching others to do all of the things she loved to do – yes even the boys! She had a love for music…specifically the Lassiter High School Marching Band. From 1984 forward she spent many hours either in the band room or working from her home, or anyone else’s, creating beauty and magic with color and material. If her band directors or color guard instructors had an idea, she would do her best to make it a reality. Well, she and any number of the members of the Betsy Ross crew! Together they made sure no band child or adult went naked!
She never met a stranger. Glenda was more than just a friend to those around her. Over her lifetime she moved and lived in many places in the US and Germany. And through all of these years she has maintained an immeasurable number of friendships. No matter how far the distance or length of time, Glenda could pick right up where they last left off in conversation as if no time had passed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill located at 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation in Glenda’s name to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
