Ernest Lewis (Larry) Dreeman, Jr. passed away on May 15, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA to Ernest and Adelaide (Browne) Dreeman. He attended Central High School in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA in 1950 with a degree in History. He attended OCS training with the U.S. Navy and served as a Naval Officer during the Korean Conflict until 1958. He married Helen (Fleischer) Dreeman on March 7, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA.
After serving in the Navy, Larry worked for several corporations including Bell Telephone, Auerbach Corporation for Science and Technology, and the Coca-Cola Company, starting in 1971, as Director of Information Systems. Having moved to Georgia in 1971, he eventually worked in the Carter Administration in an executive exchange program consulting for the Department of Defense, authorizing an extensive study on their computer information systems. After leaving Coca-Cola in 1979, he worked for several Atlanta computer consulting firms. His lifelong interest included international travel, history (Civil War and WW II), classical music and classic films.
He is preceded in death by his spouse of 53 years, Helen (Fleischer) Dreeman (2006) and his daughter, Maureen Lynne Dreeman (2015).
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Dreeman Weinstein, grandson, Benjamin Meyer Weinstein, and granddaughter, Abby Lauren Weinstein, all of Marietta, Georgia; son, Douglas Ernest Dreeman, grandson, Zachary Ernest Dreeman and granddaughter Katherine Helen Dreeman, all of Marietta, Georgia.
He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, and Lymphoma Research Foundation.
