Elaine Powell Manning

Elaine Powell Manning: Our loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away at the age of 76. She was born September 2, 1944 in Alpharetta, GA, the daughter of J.C. Powell and Gladys Warren Powell. She graduated in 1962 from Sprayberry High School and worked at Kennestone Hospital retiring in the 1990’s. Her greatest role, however, would be in retirement as grandma “Gaga” to her 10 grandchildren and 2nd grandma to dozens of other children. Her and her husband Walter Manning were avid travelers, always planning their next trip. Loved by all that met her, we will miss her unconditional love and her witty sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Marian Ledford and Kathryn P. Adcock. She is survived by her husband, Walter Manning, her son Jason Hamby, her daughter Kristin Yeager and son-in-law Steve Yeager, Paul and Melanie Manning, Dennis and Marcella Manning and her 10 grandchildren, Bailey Yeager, Emma Yeager, Alley Yeager, Carter Hamby, Andrew Hamby, Ryan Hamby, Noah Manning, Caroline Manning, Munro Manning and Aleena Manning. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 16th at 2pm at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel (1157 Old Canton Rd, Ne, Marietta, GA 30068).
