Donnie Ted Shipp, affectionately known as Ted, age 87 of Kennesaw, GA peacefully passed away Sunday December 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 25, 1937, in Dallas, GA and grew up on a dairy farm in Monticello, GA, where he developed a strong work ethic.
Before graduating from Berry Academy, Ted received his diploma from Monticello High School where he was an avid football player. After school, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a master pressman at Williams Printing Company, dedicating 38 years to his craft.
On October 25, 1958, Ted married the love of his life, Patricia Shipp. They celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage, marked by unwavering devotion and a deep, abiding love. Together, they built a family that was the center of Ted’s world.
Ted was a man of many passions. He was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, loved watching Nascar, and enjoyed spending time in his garden, where his skilled and talented green thumb was apparent. A self-taught handyman, Ted had a knack for fixing anything that needed repair. His skills and ingenuity were admired by all who knew him.
An active member of Kennesaw First Baptist for many years, Ted's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He had a strong love for God and his country, values he instilled in his family. He was known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering support for those around him.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Cook Shipp; his children, Donna Crosby, Doug Shipp (Anne), and Susan Gould (Todd); his three grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, and Reagan; and his sisters Joyce Charlton (Earl) and Melba Campbell. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Eugene Shipp and Annie Berton Barber Shipp; his brother, Wilford David “Snooks” Shipp; and his sisters, Dorothy Shipp Walls and Mickey Shipp Cameron.
Ted’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A visitation of friends for Ted will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060-3759. A chapel funeral service will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060-3759. A committal will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060-3759.
