Daniel Marshal Karlo, 66, of Marietta, unexpectedly passed away on April 10, 2017. He was born to John J. and Regina Semego Karlo on September 19, 1950, in Creighton, Pennsylvania. He attended Glassmere Elementary School and East Deer-Frazer Jr-Sr High School, both in Creighton, where he excelled in various sports. He was granted a football scholarship to Georgia Tech, where he received a BS degree in Industrial Management in 1972. In 1976, he received an MBA degree from Georgia State University. He was employed by various electrical manufacturing companies, most notably ABB Control, Inc., for whom he worked for 30 years until retiring in November, 2011. He was an avid golfer and just completed serving as President of the Senior Men’s Golf Association of Indian Hills Country Club. His other hobbies included motorcycle touring, traveling, oldies music, reading, Steelers football and, probably most of all, spending time with his two German Shepherd dogs, Roxie and JazzBo. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Linda S. Berasi Karlo. He is additionally survived by his sister Kimberly (Bob) Killian, his brother, Bryan J. (Hazel) Bailey, his niece, Leigh Ann Bailey, and his sister-in-law, Carolee Berasi.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14 from 5 until 8 pm at H.M. Patterson and Son Canton Hill Chapel, Marietta. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 15 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs.
