Charles Edward Nichols

Born in Columbus, Ohio, January 26, 1949, Charles was gifted as a people person,

welcoming and generous in nature.

Knowing no stranger, Charles’ outgoing presence allowed him to develop friendships in

many capacities throughout his life, whether as a favorite neighbor, golfing partner or

fellow associate during his 30-year career in the luxury automobile business at Lexus

and Mercedes Benz dealerships.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Charles also enjoyed cheering on The Ohio

State Buckeyes, attending concerts, traveling, gardening, and an occasional round of

golf. But more importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends and hosting

family cookouts. He was also a member of Ben Hill United Methodist Church, Atlanta,

GA.

He will be missed by loving family members, wife of 20 years, Linda Nichols; daughters

Stephanie Nichols (James) and Nakia Nichols Payne (Paron); stepdaughter, Monica

Stewart; stepsons, Paul B. Wilson (Delora) and Darrell Wilson; surviving siblings, Oddie

Lee Sanders, Alfonso Nichols, Martha Nichols, Ruby Robinson Chenault.

Grandchildren: Stephin Nichols (Brianna);Paron Payne II, Charles Dickson, Joy

Dickson, Malcolm Payne (Alecia), Maria Payne. Step grandchildren, Kayla Stewart,

Paul J. Wilson, Kara Stewart, Esten Wilson. He is also survived by six great

grandchildren and a host of many nieces, nephews and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nichols; mother, Ruby Nichols;

sister, Geneva Nichols; brother, Michael Robinson; son, Martin Small; and

granddaughter, Nina Payne.

The funeral service for Mr. Nichols will take place at 11:00 AM on

Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Home and Chapel,

907 Church Street Extension, Marietta, GA 30060.
