Brian James Bettendorf, aged 79, a resident of Marietta, Georgia, peacefully passed away on September 27th, 2023. He was born on July 18th, 1944, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to the proud parents William and Marilynn Bettendorf.
Brian's journey began in St. Paul, where he received his education, culminating in his graduation from Harding High School. Following his high school years, he dutifully served in the Army and Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.
For the majority of his professional life, Brian dedicated himself to a career at 3M, where he excelled in sales for an impressive 22 years. Subsequently, he ventured into entrepreneurship, owning and managing Full Circle Marketing for an additional 20 years. Brian's resourcefulness and talent extended to his later years when he transitioned to Walton Communities as a maintenance engineer, where he employed his building and maintenance skills to leave a lasting impact on his coworkers and residents.
Brian possessed a deep-seated passion for helping others, generously sharing his wisdom and expertise with everyone he encountered. However, his most cherished role in life was that of a doting grandfather. He took immense pride in nurturing his grandchildren, watching them blossom into successful adults. Brian was renowned for his generosity and kindness, earning a multitude of "best friends" who held him in high esteem.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife and companion of 60 years, Nancy. Additionally, he leaves behind three loving daughters: Brenda, Carol (Rich), and Amy (Gabe). His legacy of love and guidance lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Todd, Sam, Ana, Kaitlin, Bruno, Isabel, and Hanna. The profound impact of his presence extends even further through his great-grandchildren: Chase, Sadie, and Harper. Brian's memory is also cherished by a sister and brother.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Brian's remarkable journey will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 15th, at Walton on the Chattahoochee.
