Anne Marie Murray, 81 years old of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was born June 1, 1943, in Kenitra, Morocco to Joesph Martinez and Marie Rosalie Gomis Martinez. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved daughter and son-in-law.
Anne Marie was a devoted wife, and an amazing mother. Her love of home and family were always her first priority, a badge of honor she wore proudly and unwaveringly defended. If Anne Marie could be defined by two words, they would be “grace” and “elegance.” Her extraordinary beauty radiated from within and was timeless, impervious to the passing years.
Anne Marie enjoyed a deep appreciation and love of life. The serene joys of nature, animals, gardening, and art inspired her to be the incredible woman whose love forever touched so many lives. She had an energy and joy for life that was contagious. She was the consummate host who loved to entertain friends and an accomplished chef creating fabulous inspired cuisine that made holidays and get-togethers truly special occasions. Anne Marie was an extraordinary woman of many dimensions…. a true "amateur de la vie."
On January 22, 1968, Anne Marie married the love of her life, James “Scott” Murray. Together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage until his untimely passing in 2014. Loyalty and devotion to family were shared ideals for both Anne Marie and Scott. Together, they lovingly raised one daughter, Catherine Anne Murray.
Anne Marie and Catherine were constant companions who only grew ever more inseparable over the passing years. A great mom, she also tirelessly supported her beloved husband Scott with the family business, while creating and maintaining a warm and loving home environment. Belying her diminutive size, Anne Marie was a force to be reckoned with – the glue that lovingly held her family together. Her presence will be sorely missed, but the wonderful memories that she created will remain forever.
Anne Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James Scott Murray; her parents, Marie, and Joesph Martinez; her brother Raymond Martinez, and her sister Jacqueline Rosa.
Services will be held in the south of France, June of 2025. Further details regarding the memorial will follow as they are finalized.
