John Steve Knebel

John is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Deborah; son, James; and grandchildren, Samantha Smolka and Trevor Knebel . He is preceded in death by his parents, John Knebel and Ann Kroy of Youngstown, OH; and sister, Shirley Kubik of Merritt Island, FL.

John was born on July 31, 1941 in Youngstown, OH, to parents John Knebel and Ann Kroy. He graduated from Chaney High School in 1959. After beginning a career as an auto mechanic, he went to carpentry school and ended up working over 50 years as a finish carpenter.

John loved anything water related - fishing, scuba diving, and water skiing. His fondest memories were made there. John will be remembered by his family and friends as a perfectionist - both in carpentry and in life.

A visitation for John will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 33063, followed by a prayer service from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Foundation or Arbor Day Foundation.
