She was born September 16, 1965 to Dorothy and Joe Mattingly. On June 21, 2008, Becky married Paul Ritter in Union.
Becky loved life and was a fighter. When she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer two years ago, she never gave up. She surrounded herself with those who loved her most and she fought as hard as she could. Becky was a very special person and received the most joy being around others, whether it was family, friends or the customers who greatly appreciated her work at Walmart in Belvidere. Camping, fishing and collecting were some of Becky’s favorite pastimes, but if it involved being with people, it didn’t really matter what she was doing. Becky will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she has touched.
Becky is survived by her husband, Paul Ritter; her stepchildren, Tina (Mark Scharrenberg) Magnetta, Melissa Ritter and Jeremy (Aimee) Ritter; her dear friends, Cathy Schultz, Jessica Johansen, Lynn Fritz and Theresa Miller; and her beloved dogs, Fred, Jake and Harley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob Pollnow; aunts & uncles and special cousins JJ, Linda, Shane, Larry and Tommy.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in Becky’s honor on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Joe’s Place in Marengo located at 19716 E. Grant Hwy. It will begin at 12:00PM with a small service and continue until 4:00PM sharing stories and memories of Becky. Food to be provided.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Helping Paws Animal Shelter.
