John Chandler Calbow

He was born March 5, 1973 in Woodstock to Norman and Susan (Hare) Calbow. John was a lifelong resident of the Marengo-Union area and a 1991 graduate of Marengo Community High School. John was an avid Bears fan and cherished moments spent with his children, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends most notably remember his quick wit and generous heart.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Calbow of Marengo; his father, Norman Calbow of Sparta, TN; his children, Celia, Cole, and Alexa Calbow; his siblings, Deb (Ken) Thompson, Mike (Diane) Calbow, and Colleen (Marty) Wilcox; and his nieces and nephews, Katie Colbert, and great-nephew, Chase Logan, Cameron and Christopher Calbow, Megan Calbow, and Levi and Cody Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Inez and Leonard Hare, and his paternal grandparents, Stella and Alvin Calbow.

A memorial visitation will be from 1 to 3pm on Sunday, February 2, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. In honor of John casual attire is welcome.
