Gary J. DiPirro

He was born April 1, 1947 in Belvidere to Louie and Sylvia (Sweet) DiPirro. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1972. He was an aircraft mechanic and received a national defense medal. After the service Gary made a career as a cement contractor.

Gary is survived by his sister, Lana (Bill) Schifferer; his sister-in-law, Delores DiPirro; and his nieces and nephews, Vickie Volpendesta, Annette (Jim) Fulcher, Lena (Scott Altergott) DiPirro, Bill (Patty) Schifferer Jr., Gary Schifferer, Katie (Scott) Anthony, Kenda (Chad Secor) Schifferer, Jean Schifferer, Austin DiPirro, Talia Chavez, and Jason DiPirro.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Herman, Louis, and Kenneth DiPirro.

There will be a celebration of Gary’s life from 2 to 4pm on Sunday, October 16 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo.
