He was born October 25, 1932 in Chicago to Irvin and Magdalen (Rosner) Koester. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for 35 years as a Sears repairman. Edward enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. He was always friendly to anyone he met and enjoyed talking to everyone.
Edward is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Stephen (Barb), John, James (Trudy), Nancy (Mark) Bergeron, Patricia (Tim) Turbak, Carol (Jeff) Lehr, Joseph, and Jennifer (Chris) Riley; his grandchildren, Michael, David, Katie, Emily, Dillon, Matthew, Emma, Maggie, Austin, Julian, Mason, Aiden, Kevin, and Logan; his great-grandchildren, Gage, Hailey, Knox, Hannah, Brooklyn, Elisabeth, Olivia, Leah, Brady, Charley, Collins, Hoyt, and Shelby; siblings, Irene Malina and Peter (Agnes) Koester.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna (Fred) Karner, Joan Torino, and George Koester.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm on Wednesday, August 23 at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. Visitation will continue from 9am to the 10am funeral Mass on Thursday, August 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
