Roland will also be truly missed by his two Golden Retrievers, Coach and Rookie.
Roland was born and raised in East Hartford, CT on November 16, 1968. It was when he moved to Marco Island, FL to work for the busy season that he met the love of his life, Cheryl and married her shortly after. Some believe that every person has a soulmate, and we have seen this up close to be true. Anyone who looked at the life, love, and laughter that Roland and Cheryl shared, felt the connection and love that radiated from them. They were put on this earth for each other. Seeing their love ignite was like watching a fairytale that you only hear stories of. They were lucky to have found their other half in this lifetime, and with their love, came four beautiful children. Patient, gentle, kind, caring, encouraging, loving, goofy, are just a few words that describe the amazing father Roland was. Roland not only dedicated his time to his children, but he dedicated his life to teach, encourage, and inspire them every day. He was a selfless man who dedicated his entire life to better the lives of his wife, children, and everyone around him. He radiated humility, love, and absolute goodness throughout. Saying Roland was a hard worker is an understatement. He was passionate about his work and always demonstrated great teamwork, reliability, integrity, respect, and compassion throughout all the jobs he had. Roland has made a large impact on the lives of his friends, family, co-workers, and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him throughout the years by relaying his optimism, personability, and relentlessness. Throughout all the stages of his life he always persisted forward with a smile, regardless of adversity. He led by example how to be a good worker, friend, father, brother, husband, son, and all around a good person.
Roland loved life. Whether he was cheering on the Red Sox or the Cowboys, spending time with his loved ones, or just being grateful for the average day, he cherished his time with us. And until his very last breath, Roland’s outlook on life was still positive. Although Roland’s legacy will live on forever, his time with us will be forever missed.
