She was born on June 13th, 1942, to Mr. & Mrs. Gross in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to Hollywood, FL and retired to Goodland Island. She attended South Broward High School, and then went on to the University of Miami and graduated with a degree in Nursing.
She was married to Goldie Winchester Simmons Sr. in 1977.
She was an avid outdoorswoman who loved to fish, hunt and had many other outdoor activities. She passed on her passion for the outdoors to her many grandchildren. After retirement to Goodland, she became a beloved member of the community through her volunteer work with the Goodland Civic Association and the Goodland Girls. Nancy always had a smile on her face, and usually one of her signature flower hats that she created and loved to wear.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Gail, her six grandchildren, Juan, Shelby Sr, Cassie, Shaun, Amanda, and Anette, her eight great-grandchildren J.R., Harley, Hailey, Shelby Jr, Ryan, Emily, Christian and Yzabella, her sister Linda, niece and nephews Laura, Harley and Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Gross, her beloved husband Goldie Sr, her sister Betty, and two children Robbie and Goldie “Win” Jr.
Visitation and service will be held Monday April 25th, 2022, from 11am to 1pm Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home. Interment will follow shortly after at Marco Island Cemetery.
