It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Antoinette Pauls (Ann), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, compassionate caregiver, and devoted member of the Catholic church, on November 12, 2024 at the age of 93.
Ann was the wife of the late Eugene Pauls, and together they built a big-hearted family. She is survived by her six children: Gene Marie Pauls Szukala, Daniel Pauls, Joseph Pauls, Thomas Pauls, William Pauls and Bernadette Pauls. And she is reunited in heaven with her two children: Michael Pauls and Mary Ann Pauls. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will forever remember her resilience, generosity, energy, and love.
A pillar of strength, Ann dedicated her life to caring for others and was deeply involved in her church, where she found joy and purpose in serving her community. Her faith, compassion and volunteerism touched the lives of many, and she will be missed by all who knew her. As the matriarch of the family, Ann’s faith and steadfast support of Eugene and their children led to the creation of their family business in which she ensured the family sustained and prospered through many years. Ann engaged in Seguin Retarded Citizens Association (SRCA), in the Chicago area and her leadership contributed to the organization developing many impactful programs for its residents with special needs and their families.
Ann loved her home in Marco Island, Florida of almost forty years and remained active and busy through her early nineties – walking the beach, swimming, volunteering at San Marco Church, cooking for all who visited and frequenting the local thrift stores. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
