Barbara L. Gaillardet

She was the wife of the late Albert J. Gaillardet. Born in Boston, Barbara was the daughter of Stephen M. and Doris (Bray) Torrey. She was educated in the Marblehead Public Schools and graduated from Swampscott High School. She attended The Fay School, a junior college in Boston, and became a legal secretary. After her children were school age, she joined the firm of Barnes & Barnes and later in the offices of Shafner, Keating and Cuffe in Lynn.

She was a charter member and president of Essex County Legal Secretaries Association, a member of the Marblehead Senior Citizens Club, also serving as president, and was a long time member of the Church of the Holy Name in Swampscott, also serving as president of the Marie Joy Guild.

Her favorite pastime was her family camping at Terrace Pines in Ossipee, N.H. for 25 years making many lifetime memories and friends.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Joan Gaillardet of Georgetown, Lori Babine and her husband, Robert of Conway, N.H. and Wendy Gaillardet of Ossipee, N.H.; Three grandchildren Chrystine Quimby and her husband, Robert of Hampton, N.H., Eric Babine and his wife, Sheena of Wakefield, N.H. and Jaime Wetmore of Lebanon, N.H.; four great-grandchildren, Stella and Trop Babine and Cole and Lexi Wetmore. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Debbi Gaillardet and her brothers, Stephen Torrey, Jr., Charles Torrey, Richard Torrey and Robert Torrey.
