Glenn Clinton Sanders of Horseshoe Bay, Texas passed away January 22, 2019. Glenn was born in Smithsburg, Maryland, on August 26, 1932 to Ira James Sanders and Thelma Ida (Neikirk)Sanders. He graduated from Smithsburg High School in Smithsburg, Maryland. He served in the United Stated Army 501st Military police. Glenn married Nelda East in August 22, 1954. Glenn worked for Rohm and Haas Chemical Company where he retired after 34 years of service. He also retired from the City of Deer Park, Texas as a volunteer fireman.
Abe, as he was known to many family and friends, was a name he was often called because of his honesty and Integrity. He will be remembered by all as a Christian and Godly man. His faith and love of the Lord was an example to all and guided him always in every aspect of his life. Glenn was always humble, patient and kind. He loved being with his family and friends the most. He was a loving husband, Daddy and Papaw.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years Nelda East Sanders; his daughters Deborah Dobbs and husband Stephen, Shirley Varnell and husband Michael, and Karen Whitley and husband Mickey; Granddaughters Elecia Varnell Audish and husband Scott, Kristel Varnell Carnes and husband Justin, Diana Dobbs, Catherine Dobbs, Brittany Hatley, and Amanda Whitley; and two Great Grandchildren. Glenn is also survived by his sister Joan Reinser.
