Gina Smith left our lives on April 03, 2020 at the age of 79. Gina was born 22 January, 1941 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the third of four daughters and one son of M.B. & Kathleen (Tiernan) Stoner. Gina was a registered dietician and joined the USAF in 1967 as medical nutrition officer. In 1971 she met Lt. Ross C Smith, Jr and in May of that year, they married. They continued their twenty year careers and begin their 44 year honeymoon until his death in February 2015. Their love for one another was incredible, and truly inspiring. By their merger, she “inherited” her son Ross C Smith IV. He and his wife Ilona together with their children, Morgan and Ashely were her rock after the death of her husband. They gave her not only their love and support, but the hope for a future beyond Ross’ death.
Gina was an amazing mother, wife and friend to all.
Gina was predeceased by her parents, M.B & Kathleen Stoner, her brother (Pat) 1974, her husband Ross (1995).
A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. An internment of her cremains will follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas along with those of her beloved husband.
