Ed “Eddie” Atwood died on April 10, 2021 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
Ed was born on July 17, 1944 in Austin, Texas to the late Luther and Mary (Gill) Atwood. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) in the United States Army with 22 years of service to his country.
Before his passing he told his wife, Cheryl, to tell everyone not to cry for him because he had a second chance at life after receiving a heart transplant 23 years ago in December 1997. He felt truly blessed for the extra time on earth that allowed him to travel abroad, live in Germany, and ride his motorcycle. At the age of 73 he passed his exam for his realtor license on the first try.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary (Gill) Atwood; and son, Aaron Atwood.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Cheryl; son, Terrence (Melissa) Atwood; daughter, Catherine (James) Frailey; grandsons, Wyatt Frailey, Dylan Frailey, Luke Atwood; granddaughter, Abi Atwood; and great grandson, Solomon Frailey; cousins Nancy Atwood Frasier and Gary Gill. He also leaves behind his best and lifelong friend, Richard Giesecke.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, TX. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Marble Falls, TX. Burial will be in the Lakeland Hills Memorial Park
