Rose Marie Appleman

Rose Marie Appleman, age 77, of Marion, passed away early Sunday morning, December 16, 2018, at Heartland of Marion. She was born April 1, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Nellie (Norris) Au.

Along with her husband, David, Rose owned and operated Modern Printing for many years. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Playing cards with her friends was a favorite pastime. Her most treasured moments were spent exploring the outdoors with her husband.

She is survived by a son, Travis (Amanda) Appleman of Marion; three grandchildren, Mickala Jacobs, Ciara Appleman and Nicholas Appleman; two sisters, Betty (Howdy) Messer and Dollie (Mike) Kovinchick, both of Mansfield; a brother, Richard Au of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Appleman on October 30, 2008.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, at a later date.
