Robert was born in Ashland, Ohio on November 12, 1949 to Russell and Elsie (Hawks) Watts. He retired from Westinghouse and was a talented, skilled self-employed baker for 35 years. He was drafted during Vietnam and served in the United States Army. Robert attended Caesarea Baptist Church for many years, and attended Westside Baptist over the past year. Competent and experienced, Robert taught roller skating in Akron of Mansfield for 20 years and competed in several competitions. He ran home arts and needlework for Richland County Fairgrounds for 20 plus years and Bellville Street Fair for 24 years.
Those he leaves to cherish many fond memories are his son, Woody (Lynn) Mount; his grandsons, Donnovan, Nathan, and Connor Mount; and many distant cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 35 years, Barbara (Murray) Watts; 3 brothers; and a sister.
Family will receive guests from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. An additional hour of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Joseph Smith officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville, Ohio.
