Robert Charles Steffey, 70, passed away early Saturday morning, July 7, 2012 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born May 3, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clarence Isaac and Marjorie (Ingram) Steffey.
Bob was a member of Linden Road Presbyterian Church. An area businessman his entire life, he was the previous owner and operator of Central Ohio Vending. Bob was a member of the Sons of Herman, Mansfield Liederkranz and Mansfield Power Squadron.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Kay (Swetlic) Steffey; two children, John C. (Kim) Steffey of Wisconsin and Christopher R. (Jenn) Steffey of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Christopher James “C.J.” Steffey, Taylor Steffey and Justin Steffey; a sister, Janet Steffey Kern of North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Robert Swetlic of Mansfield and Knute (Jeanie) Larson of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a special aunts and uncles, Helen and Lyle Redman, Bill and Mimi Ingram and Jud and Marguerite Ingram.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Knute Larson will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
