Robert Howell

Robert J. Howell, 64, of Shelby, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at his home. Born May 12, 1942 in Mansfield, he was the son of James and Ruby Lewis Howell. He worked at General Motors for 35 years. Mr. Howell enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Scott Howell; children and their spouses, Bruce and Stacy Howell of Bucyrus, Christine and Alex Boyle of Mansfield, Ryan and Tika Howell of Shelby, Brooke and Tom Turney of Akron, and Andy Howell of Shelby; six grandchildren, Brad Howell, Devin Cross, Chelsea, Caleigh, Gage, and Trent Howell; sisters, Shirley Harsh, Judy Bundy, both of Galion, and Sandy Summers of Mansfield; brother, Jim Howell of Mansfield; and foster brother, Jerry Blackford. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery, north of Bucyrus. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or the Crestview School Track and Field Teams.
