Robert E. Hibbs, 80, of Mansfield, died early Sunday morning, November 5, 2006, at his home. Born February 15, 1926, in Grant Town, West Virginia, he was the son of John and Marie Fusarina Hibbs. He retired from Borg-Warner after 27 years of service. Robert was a member of the Owls and Amvets Post #26. He enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his family, friends and dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Frisen Hibbs; a daughter, Debbi Randy Adams of Ontario; son, Robert W. Hibbs of Bellville; five grandchildren, Shea and Jamie Adams, Nichole Voiles and Clinton and Madilyn Hibbs; three brothers, Calvin Hibbs of Wheeling, West Virginia, John Hibbs of Farmington, West Virginia, and Virgil Hibbs of Columbus; and four sisters, Doris Freeland of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sarah Schnaufer of North Ridgeville, Laverna Baier of Minerva and Louise Toothman of Gilford Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Henry and James Hibbs.
Funeral services conducted by Pastor Denise Marikis will be held Friday, November 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice, 335 Glessner Ave., Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
